Summer Shows (Oaks 1, 2, 3 and Del Mar) Most of the barn went to the Oaks for 3 weeks and we never wanted to leave! The weather was fantastic and we are still dreaming about the crepes with strawberries and whip cream. (Well, not Becky, she still loves her peanut butter and jelly sandwichesJ) We had many successes in the adult amateur hunters throughout the Oaks circuit. Lorna Hardy was champion week 3, winning 3 out of the 5 classes! Wow. Diego was on a roll! Pam Stubbs was also stellar weeks 2 and 3 with Absolut Mocha. She was reserve champion week 3 and also won the classic! She also brought her 3 year old Tess along to hang out and she enjoyed all the excitement! Jennifer Kasten and Steal the Scho (Tucker) were 2nd in the Classic week 3; it was a great end to the show for her. Devon McLaughlin had a great 3 shows with Lipton (Blue Chip). She placed very well in the ultra competitive Children's Hunters and Show Circuit Medals! Katie Herberger is having a blast with her new horse Tarzan. They showed in the modified a/o jumpers and did very well. There were over 40 in her classes! Dionne Fedderson's new horse Oliver was a blast for Becky to ride. Each week they moved up to a higher division! He loves to jump and never skipped a beat. Caroline Hardy did very well in the equitation with Caramello. He is always a character. She was also champion in the low A/O hunter's week 3! JJ Balducci flew in week 3 to try a horse. She purchased Abby after the show and they will show in the Children's Hunters throughout the year. Abby is a gorgeous thoroughbred mare with movement and jump to die for! Congratulations! Erika Moore had a lot of success with Wolfie in the Children's jumpers and the equitation. She placed in some very competitive 3'6 medals (5th in the Maclay!) as well as placing in 2 of the 3 Children's Jumper Classics that were at the end of each week! Becky also brought her own horse Crocodile and got a few prizes, smoking the fast competition in the meter jumpers! Danine Summers' Lipstick Z was also phenomenal for not having done too many jumper shows. She stepped up and jumped in the grass field like a pro!International Hunter Futurity West Coast Final results: Absolute Treasure, Pam's 3 year old was great in Del Mar and placed 2nd in one of her over fences classes! Tess (Absolute Treasure) will be traveling to Kentucky for the IHF finals as well. Good Luck! The International Hunter Futurity is a great way to introduce your young horses to the show scene. They have great prizes and it is so much fun! Pam Stubbs and Jennifer Kasten have decided to take a road trip and show their horses in St Louis and Kentucky.St Louis Show: Absolut Treasure was Best Young horse, while Absolut Mocha was Champion in the Adult Am hunters. Jennifer and her Steal the Scho placed very well in the Adult Hunters and got 3rd in the Adult Classic! Good luck in Kentucky! Tess (Absolut Treasure) will also be showing in the hunter futurity finals there.Kentucky: Becky, Kris and Samantha flew in to help with the duties at the Kentucky National show to help with the International Hunter Futurity. Becky and Tess (Absolut Treasure) proved a great pair and were 3rd in both over-fences classes for the 3 year old performance classes! That was a huge class and very competitive, we are very proud! Pam showed Tess in the in-hand and won the 3 year old filly class! Pam and Absolut Mocha won the under saddle in the Adult Am. Hunters as well as winning one of the over fences classes! Jennifer and Steal the Scho were in the very tough 36-50 division and she held her own doing very well despite all the mud in the outside arenas! |
