Becky Warner established Morning Shadows Farm in 1989 in order to provide exceptional full-service training programs specialized to meet the needs of each individual horse and rider. As a junior, Becky enjoyed great success while riding with her mentors Victor Hugo Vidal, Mark Mullins, and Hap Hansen. Prior to starting her own business, Becky worked and rode for a varitable Who's Who of top trainers and judges in the industry. In the early 80's, Becky and her then husband Pierre Jolicouer ran a successful sales barn specializing in international quality grand prix horses. In 1983, Becky finished 2nd in the AGA Rookie of the Year Standings and she earned numerous top placings on several different grand prix mounts. Becky also gained valuable knowledge and experience working and riding for such top professionals as Jeffrey Welles, Walter "Timmy" Kees, Margie Hough, Tim Goguen, Judy & Roger Young, and Todd Minikus. Since founding Morning Shadows Farm in 1989, Becky has trained numerous horses and riders to championships and top awards throughout the country. Morning Shadows Farm is the only 'A' circuit show barn in Arizona that offers the absolute best in care and the individualized training and attention it takes to win at the top levels of our sport. ![]() Becky, Sandy (Bar A Ranch owner), and Kris Kris Phillips joined Becky as her assistant trainer in 2004. Originally from Laredo, TX, Kris started out riding saddle seat as a young girl. She later moved on to do hunters, then cutters, then back to hunters/jumpers. When it comes to horses, Kris has done it all. She usually always had a brood mare to raise a foal for herself because it was more affordable. She's delivered over 2,000 foals at stables she worked for over the years. She was ten years with Judy Janney in NM doing jumpers and sales, and during that time groomed for Terry Leibel on the Canadian Team; she was ten years with Meg and Sandy Skafgaard at Pretty Penny Farm in Scottsdale doing hunters and jumpers as well as at Crooked Willow Farms in Sedalia, CO. Kris then spent fourteen years training cutting horses with Don Dodge for the Chamberlain Family before joining up with Becky Warner. She feels very fortunate to have always worked for good people and trainers that she liked and respected. Kris has always been a thoroughbred-lover, reading pedigrees in "The Blood Horse" since she was ten years old. She has exercised racehorses over the years and knows all the lineages and current racers. Now she enjoys teaching and training at Morning Shadows Farm with her five year old shelter rescue dog, Tiffany. In her minimal spare time, she visits her warmblood yearling, Chaplain by Chaleon, at Sovereign Farms in Buckeye and works on her new home with horse property.
